MTB in Macedonia

Arrival in Skopje. Preparation for the biking program. If its possible we will have sightseeing of the city with bikes. Start from the fortress of Kale and bike down to the old Turkish market. Bike across the old town In to the new to visit Skopje, including the monuments and museums. Bike to hotel. Dinner and welcome drinks.

After breakfast where we will drive up to the chair lift on the mount of Vodno and climb to the top of the millennium cross. From here we continue biking to the canyon of Matka, with stops for unbelievable view of Canyon Matka. We will bike down to lake Matka for lunch, short walk around the lake and visit the cave Vrelo, one of the deepest world cave lakes and applicant for the wonder of the world. From here we continue to Sharr Mountain for overnight and dinner.

This day will start with a ride to the village Vrutok. Today, we ride through the beautiful area of Sharr mountain where we will enjoy in the beautiful landscapes of the Polog Valley and later in the second part we will enjoy the beauty and ambience of rural villages that are part of NP Mavrovo. At the end we will enjoy delicious food and fish specialties in the village Vrutok. Finally, in the end we can relax in a beautiful view of Mavrovo lake, fresh mountain air and traditional homemade dinner

At the very beginning we have easy ride on asphalt road to the village Leunovo and this section can be used as warming up for our muscles. From this position, we begin our climb to the sheepfold Chavkarnik, where we visit the sheepfold and on the site we will have that opportunity to meet with herdsmen and then learn about the production process of cheese and finally to taste it. Afterwards we head towards the village of Galicnik, where we will visit the Church of St.Peter and Paul, dairy, and then we will have lunch in the village. From the first hand, from our host we will learn something about the traditions and culture of the village. At the end for this day, we ride to the village Selce, the point where we meet our van and trailer, and from there we have transfer to Ohrid, but before that we are going to see the Monastery of St. John the Baptist.

For this day we have two options:
1 Rest day, which would include: city tours, boat tour, lunch and free time for sightseeing, shopping and so on. And the tour from the second option we can ride next day.
2. Early in the morning to ride in N.P.Galichica, where we will have a rare opportunity to enjoy in the beauty nature in the N.P. Galicica, enjoy the beautiful views of the lake, taste local food for the lunch and finally we can enjoy and chill our bodies in one of the oldest lakes in Europe, sipping our favorite drink, accompanied by beautiful sunset.

This day we start riding from village Velestovo to the highest point that we are going to clim for this day, and this is the place Krstec. Then we will continue with our ride through three karstic fields in the national park, to the asphalt road that leads to village Stenje – Prespa lake. From that point we start our descent to the village Stenje, where we wait our van and trailer. In the end we have transfer to Bitola.

We will start riding from our hotel and head to Mariovo, one of the most beautiful areas in the Pelagonija Valley. In this area you will have opportunity to here the storie about clever Pejo, we will visit the bridge in the village Zovikj, we will visit the monastery of St. Nicholas where we have lunch and from here we have transfer to the town of Prilep. In this city we will visit the museum of tobacco, the city center, female monastery Varos and fortress of King Marko. In the end we have transfer to Popova Kula winery, where we can enjoy in our wonderful dinner and taste different varieties of wines, walking through the winery and later you will be able to relax.
